Respected Audience,
I would like to extend my heartfelt and warm welcome from the bottom of my heart on behalf of me and my school family to the respected chairperson of New Professional Building Inaugural Program and 8th Student Talent Show Program, Eldest member of martyred family, father of martyr Rajman Mali ,chief guest of this program Mr. Dhan Sundar Mali, chiarperson of School Management Committee Mr. Tulsidass Maharjan, Member of Parliament of this region Mr. Dilip Maharjan and Monk Anand, Distinguished Guests Fausto De Stefani, Elio Mutti from Italy and other Italian friends, Representative of Kirtipur Municipality, all the members of Rarahil School Trust and Management Committee, lover of education our friend, Mr. Lila Bahadur Shahi, all political leaders of Kirtipur region, Ph.d holders of Kirtipur region, all the colleagues who have been helping continually since the establishment of this school, neighboring guests of this school, all the ex-teachers and ex-students, social workers, teachers, staff, students and respected parents and guardians.
As you know, for the drastic change of the country, for egalitarian society, for entire social justice socially and politically active for the sake of human cultivation and development of the country, in order to contributing in the realm of educational field, by the initiation of youths who were socially involved in the people's agitation in 1993, among them Rajman Mali, Rajendra Maharjan, Hirakaji Maharjan and Lan Bahadur Maharjan, who were martyred in the same year and in the honor of these four martyrs, Rarahil Memorial School led foundation on their pious blood in 1993.
Rarahil Memorial School has a special aim of preparing the manpower of having sensibly critic personalities, conscientious children who are aware of their own and other's health, cleanliness and who are also aware of preserving environment, who is responsible for sustainable development and the people of this country.
Established with the help of the fund and material of the youth who were determined for positive change, Rarahil School has been running by a trust as a non profitable educational institution.
Commenced with a small investment and an inadequate experience, despite various ups and downs, in the pursuit of democratic norms and values, since its establishment for fifteen years, the school has come a long way with its present grand infrastructures and deserving quality.
Dear friends, To bring this school in this present condition, all colleagues, especially the colleagues of the trust, school management authorities, Kirtipur Municipality, teachers, students, parents and guardians, Mr. Lila Bahadur Shahi and our dear friend Fausto de Stefani contributed invaluable help.
International humanitarian Italian citizen Mr. Fausto de Stefani is a world famous mountaineer and is a naturalist personality. He has scaled all mountains of the world situated above 8000m. Taking into consideration this, he is one of the famous mountaineers of the world. Let me present for your information that he has preserved nature and environment in many countries of the world.
We met Mr. Fausto de Stefani in 1999 through Mr. Lila Bahadur Shahi. In the meeting Mr. Fausto De Stefani and his friend Fabrizio Zamparioli proposed to support this school and to make it one of the best school of Kirtipur, and according to that, we have arrived in this situation. Having been unified with the objective, programs, activities and people actively involved in unity, the working capacity of the team, they were influenced and as a result we became close and strong in faith. In order to make this rapport expand Mr. Lila Bahadur Shahi played a crucial role, and still has been paying a big contribution until now. From time to time and in various circumstances he has been strengthening and enhancing our relationship. We hope, even the time to come, he will continue to maintain this rapport with us.
Mr. Fausto De Stefani and Rarahil School have unitedly launched different activities such as purchase of land, construction of building, adoption program, the tour of Italy and land purchase for construction of professional building.
Dear Audience,
Now let me present the progress of the school before you concisely from the beginning up to now. Towards education development: In the 1st SLC Batch 2003, 20 students appeared in the SLC exam and all got through successful. Likewise in 2004, 31 students appeared in the SLC exam and all passed, among them four stood distinction and one got through in compartment exam. Similarly in 2005, 28 students were sent up, among them 27 students stood 1st and one stood in 2nd division. In the like manner in 2006, out of 43 students, 7 stood distinctions, 35 stood 1st and 1 got through in 2nd division. In total all were passed. In the same way, the educational performance of Rarahil Memorial School is highly satisfactory. We've taken this performance positively. Our school has achieved good SLC results and we hope in the future we will try to do better than this.
Towards extra curriculum, for the all round development of the students, the school has launched different extra curriculum activities as per our annual calendar such as games and sports, quiz contest, elocution contest, debate contest, handwriting contest and so on.
In order to expose students' hidden talent and potentiality, we run Students' Talent Show Program annually. It is also known as "Parents' Day". Today also after this formal program we are going to show you Students' Talent Show Program. I humbly request you to grace through this program.
Besides the studies, the school has appointed teachers for various extra activities such as singing, music, dance, games and sports, drawing etc and we give regular classes for each subject.
Our students participate in different activities organized by other schools and organizations and often they bag prizes. Our ex-students' organization "Rarahil ESA" organizes annual Inter School Basketball Competition. This year (2006 AD) we stood 1st in both boys' and girls' Inter School Basketball cmpetition. We are pleased to inform you this achievement.
We celebrate Annual Weekly Sports Day with various games and sports including cross country race. By and large such activities have played a vital role to keep a good image of the school. Besides this, we take our students to different beautiful and historical places as an educational tour.
In the strength of no. of students, we have 360 male students and 321 female students, in total we have 681 students in this year. We have 23 male teachers and 14 female teachers. In total we have 33 teaching staff and 12 non teaching staff. Altogether we have 49 working staff.
Now let me present general account of the school. For the fiscal year(2005/2006) 2062/63, (according to the report of the editor) total income and expenditure is Rs. 80,56,521.70
The condition of economic and physical sources and means, let me present the status of the school. Now the school has two buildings including a ground within 6 ropanis and 10 annas of land for which the Italian friend Fausto De Stefani has supported us Rs.1,61,88,332.50.
Under adoption program or sponsor program given in different dates Rs. 47,30,588 was received and in the same program we've spent Rs. 42,31,907 and Rs. 4,94,681 is in bank balance.
This sponsor is especially targeted for the poor, helpless, hardworking orphans of Kirtipur and for the children of martyr family. Now we have 26 students under full sponsor and 45 students under partial sponsor, in total we have 71 students under sponsor program.
Under partial sponsor, Mr. Fausto de Stefani pays Euro Rs.160 or NC Rs.14,400 and under full sponsor Euro Rs. 510 or NC Rs.45,000.
We have received Rs. 2,63,849 in total for Public Park but we've spent only Rs. 88,958, the remaining Rs. 1,74,891 we have not been able to use it due to land pooling program of the government in our locality. Similarly for professional school we've received Rs. 33,89,775 for land purchase, Rs.1,25,00,000 for building construction, Rs. 22,00,000 for furniture, in total 18,10,00,000. Till now from 2061/6/1 to 2064/5/25 until eight phases, we've received from Italy Rs. 1,55,56,856.55 only. The remaining amount we have to clear between the contractor and the workers.
Similarly on 22nd August,2005, we had received Rs. 1,76,488 which we have used up for painting the school building. Similarly on 24th July, 2006, we received Rs.6,53,886.40 for air ticketing and other expenses for Italy tour. Now we have Rs. 1,34,638 left which we have spent under scholarship program according to instruction of Mr. Fausto de Stefani and Elio Mutti. In Dec.2002, for computer, fax machine, photocopy machine and other materials purchase we had received Rs. 2,23,963 with which we purchased all the equipments and now the balance is nil.
Concerning land, building and other properties two school building and their two school buildings and their ground is in 6 ropanis and 10 annas and for professional building we have 2 ropanis and 14 annas of land.
Regarding rooms and office we have 2 hostel flats, kitchen, canteen, library, teachers' room, account room, guard house. In total we have 37 rooms all big and small. Likewise for professional school building we have Auditorium Hall, 5 Classrooms, 2 Office rooms, Reception area, Yoga & Meditation Hall, Computer lab, Library, 2 Common bathrooms.
Ladies and Gentleman,
In fact, we have constructed this professional school building so as to prepare potential manpower for the country regarding trekking, traveling, hotel management, environmental health & cleanliness and other preserving natural beauty and its preservable elements. From the concerned department we've yet not been summoned for registration as soon as we'll be called we'll have go for its process. Finally, we have the concept of taking this school into 10+2 program, I make it known to you. In near future we'll be running 10+2.
At last, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all of you who involved and participated to make this program successful, the teachers and staff of this school, ex-students, students and constructional staff who suffered a lot for preparing it. I also would like to extend my special thanks to the building designer Mr. Uttam Karki of Bastu Consultancy.
I also expect more suggestion from you from different angles if I have failed to include some points in this report which would be invaluable instrumental devices for the development of this school. At the end, if I have left out any points that I should have included, I apologize and once again extend my sincere thanks to all of you friends.
